Quote of the Day
Neal is not feeling well today and he just told Ne-J to leave him alone so he can be sick and miserable because he wont be able to for much longer since he will have to do dad things soon. Needless to say I just laughed and Ne-J is now pouting.

Bump Update version 1.21
21 weeks done 19 weeks to go. Wow, time has really gone quickly since finding out the we were pregnant. And I suspect that the next 19 weeks will go even more quickly as we prepare for the arrival of our little one! As I think of all the things that we have to do I get a bit overwhelmed but I think that it will be a ton of fun though. Getting the nursery ready which is the biggest part but I think that will be the most fun. Picking colors, getting a crib, getting a few clothes so our baby does not have to come home naked and has a place to sleep are just a few of the things we have to do. I am sure that I will forget a few things and frantically try to do them as the baby's arrival come closer...

Bump Update
This last week was pretty cool, I really started feeling the baby moving! Earlier this week I was at work just sitting there and there was pretty constant fluttering on and off all day. Last week we had our doctors appointment and after looking at our sonogram our due date was moved up 9 days based on the babies measurements. Our date moved from August 30th to August 21st.
On March 29 we hit our 19 week mark. So we are almost half way there!

Spring Break
For Neal's Spring Break from school we headed to Colorado. We were able to spend almost a week there which was great. We left Kansas City on Saturday after Neal got off of work. Then on Sunday we were able to hang out and that evening we had dinner with my family. Then on Monday we headed down to Colorado Springs to hang out with our friends Mike and Mallory and their kids. On Tuesday Neal went up to Winter Park to go Snow Boarding with his dad, Corinna and Dustin. During the day my mom and I were able to spend the day together, which was awesome!
That evening we went over to Neal's dad's place for dinner. On Wednesday we meet with our friends Chris and Kami and their little girl Noelle for breakfast. We went to a place called Snooze which I do have to say was yummy. It was so good to be able to catch up with them. After breakfast we headed over to Ikea which just opened in Denver. Then we stopped by Corinna's new place and Neal helped them move in and I got to watch Gavin and I got to see him roll over!
That night we went out to dinner with my parents to a pizza place. After dinner we headed downtown to a coffee shop called St. Marks where we met Nathaniel and Katelyn and got to enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation with them. Then on Thursday we headed back to Kansas City.

Woo Wee
I know, I know its been another long break in time since I have updated my blog. But I do say that I have a pretty good reason... So I will start from the beginning. Over Christmas Neal and I headed up to Wisconsin to visit his mom. We also were able to visit his grandparents. We then headed up to the Minneapolis area to spend a few days with Luke, Elise and Vienna. There we had great company and great food and Neal found a coffee shop that we made a special trip into the city for (I do have to say that it was worth it). By the end of our great trip both Neal and I were getting sick. So that was not a fun way to end our trip but what can you do? At least Neal got over his cold in a few days. I one the other hand did not. Since what I first thought was a cold actually turned out to be morning sickness! Yes, we are going to be welcoming the newest member of our family at the end of August! So for the next 8 weeks or so I was continuously queasy and always wanting to take a nap. Now I am finally feeling better and not feeling so tired. The way I told Neal you ask? Well I took the test right before Neal got home from work and I put it on the table. He gets home and puts his coffee cup right next to it and heads outside to play fetch with Ne-J. So while he is outside I move it even closer to his cup. Neal then comes back inside and the he gets this inquisitive look on this face and leans closer to the test. With this goofy grin on his face he asks "Really??!!". So for the last few weeks we have been taking pictures of my growing belly (I can tell its growing but others not so much).

This last week we had our Sonogram to measure how far along we are and the baby measured at about 15 weeks. We were able to get several pictures and of course the baby was always moving so they are not the best but what do you expect from an ultrasound. It was so cool to be able to see our baby for the first time and hear its heart beat. It makes it so much more real!

The Big 3 0
Well this week we have have hit huge milestone in our house. Any guesses on what it may be?
My wonderful husband turned the Big 3 0! To celebrate his day we went out to his favorite restaurant, Oklahoma Joe's where we had some awesome bbq.

Then we came home and he decided that he needed to practice being the grumpy old man

And then we had cake. I made him a spiced cake with cream cheese frosting, yum.

HAPPY 30th BIRTHDAY NEAL!

Thanksgiving
I am finally getting around to writing about our awesome Thanksgiving weekend almost just in time for Christmas.
We left Tuesday afternoon and thanks to the increase in the speed limit through Kansas to 75 we were able to cut 1 hour and 15 minutes off of our drive! and arrived in Denver about midnight.
After sleeping in on Wednesday and getting breakfast at the Taste of Denmark bakery. We headed over to hang out with Corinna, Dustin and our new nephew (and Godson) Gavin!
Later that night we had dinner at Jose O'Sheas, one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Denver with Neal's dad.
Then on Thursday we had Thanksgiving dinner at my parents where all the family gathered including Nathaniel and his girlfriend Katelyn and Corinna, Dustin and Gavin. We ate a ton of yummy food and watched football.
Black Friday. We did not get up at the break of dawn to go shopping we just went in the afternoon. And that evening our friends Mike and Mallory along with their kids Ethan and Lucy (who we met for the first time) came down from Colorado Springs and we hung out at Corinna's place and ate pizza and the guys played Lego Batman and we talked and caught up on all the goings on in our lives.
Then on Saturday we just had a lazy day. In the morning we had coffee with Neal's dad. Then we spent the rest of the day with my parents and Neal had to run a few errands. We also made and decorated tiles for my aunts new house that she will use for her kitchen.

That night we went out to dinner at this all you can eat Italian restaurant. And again for the umpteenth time that weekend I ate way too much food.
Inevitably our weekend had to come to an end so on Sunday we met some of the family for coffee and then we hit the road and headed back to Kansas City.
I just love these weekends where we can head to Colorado and see family and friends and just wish that it was not so far.
